The same thing happened a few years ago in Clayton; from the kitchen window I saw a tiny hummingbird trying to drink from an almost empty feeder. Tony dashed outside a managed to catch the hungry bird, while I filled another feeder, then replaced the new one; Tony put the bird on the edge of the feeder, but nothing happened, so he managed to tilt the feeder so he had a wet finger and gently ran it along its beak, then suddenly it managed to draw it's beak to the feeder and drank until it was enough.  He turned his little head to Tony looking at him, then put his beak on Tony's hand and flew away to the nearest tree.

If only we had a camera, it was quite a sight to see!

For two days  the same bird came to our feeder, the next day a female came to the feeder, literally 2 seconds later the male was right behind her; for 2 whole weeks they were always together, then more birds followed them and we added another feeder a couple of feet away.
